INTA collects over $10b of taxes in 9 months
TEHRAN - The Iranian National Tax Administration (INTA) collected 5.02 quadrillion rials (about $10.02 billion) of taxes during the first nine months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-December 21), a tax official said.
According to Shahin Mostofi, director general of INTA Audit Office, the country’s tax revenue is expected to reach 7.48 quadrillion rials (about $14.96 billion) by the end of the current calendar year (March 20, 2024), Mehr News Agency reported.
Iran has introduced measures in recent years to crack down on tax evasion as part of plans to rely more on domestic resources of the economy and to offset the impacts of U.S. sanctions.
INTA managed to realize the goals set for the organization in the previous Iranian calendar year by 104 percent.
